Religious congregation to lead the secondary school

Great news! Great news, indeed.

At the end of July, The Mortel Foundation board of directors entered into a 20-year contract with the Congregation of Clercs de St. Viateur to lead the James Stine College, our new secondary school in St. Marc.The religious group will begin their responsibilities July 1, 2011.

UFCW Union donates Computer Lab and Library

It brings me great honor to deliver this news today. Thanks to UFCW's (United Food and Commercial Workers International Union) $100,000 donation the James Stine College will now have the funds for the construction a computer lab and library.

Youth Mission Group Comes to Haiti

It is very important to me to have groups involved in this summer camp. The selection process began months ago with over 23 applications. We selected our group based on school, community, and church involvement. Applicants received news on May 21 if they were a part of the special 8 taking the trip to Haiti.This year's group consists of seven females and one male. The majority of the students are from Notre Dame Preparatory School.

The Earthquake: Six months later

The Spirit of Haiti reaches Baltimore

One of my favorite times of year is fast approaching. The annual Gala of Hope is an evening when we gather our friends and supporters together for a festive evening. At the Gala, I get the chance to share the good news of what's happening at Good Samaritan School to a ballroom full of people, who are all gathered for the same cause.
