Smencharline (left), a second grader, noticed that her friend Samira (right) missed a few days of school.

She became concerned and asked her teacher what happened. When she heard that Samira couldn’t attend school because she had no shoes to wear, she took action. The next day, her father called and offered to provide shoes for Samira.

Samira came back to school, all smiles, thanks to her classmate’s care and generous spirit.
