Program Focus
The Notre Dame de Lamercie Literacy School provides a four-year literacy program to adults in the region including parents of Les Bons Samaritains students. The school employs five Haitians and enrolls more than 100 students each school year.
The program teaches adults how to read and write in order to improve their social and economic opportunities.
Acquiring literacy is an empowering process, enabling millions to enjoy access to knowledge and information which broadens horizons, increases opportunities and creates alternatives for building a better life.
