Hands-On Learning in Haitian Schools
At Les Bons Samaritains (LBS) and College James M. Stine (CJMS), we believe learning goes far beyond lectures. While many schools in Haiti rely on traditional methods, we strive to give our students more hands-on learning opportunities and extracurricular experiences that spark creativity and curiosity.
Creativity and Culture: Hands-On Learning in Haiti
From finger painting and collage making to sewing and drawing, our art programs encourage children to explore new techniques and express themselves in meaningful ways.
And this spirit of discovery doesn’t stop with art. At our recent school exposition, students showcased projects that mapped Haiti’s regions, honored historic monuments, explored family heritage, and even created homemade products.
These activities are more than just classroom projects — they are pathways to deeper understanding. They strengthen cultural pride, connect students to their community, and show them how their ideas can shape the future.
In Haiti, where challenges can often feel overwhelming, these moments matter. They remind our students that their history is rich, their creativity is powerful, and their voices deserve to be heard.
