Celebrating “Green Day”

Green Day, or Agriculture and Labor Day, is celebrated in Haiti on May 1. It highlights the importance of agriculture and farming to Haiti and the country’s economy.

More than half of Haiti’s population depends on agriculture for their livelihood.

Students and teachers wear green to school and give presentations on the importance of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other agricultural products.
