The World Language Honor Society of Jenkintown, PA, made up of 60 students in grades 10-12, hosted 3 fundraisers throughout April & May to sponsor 2 students in our schools in Haiti.

Every year, the WLHS participates in various educational projects to learn about different cultures in addition to running 5 service projects. Two of their annual service projects support a nearby Spanish-speaking family center, and 3 support different organizations serving French-speaking Haiti. This year, 15 members of the WLHS ran three events in April and May to raise enough money to sponsor 2 students at our schools in Haiti! They sold water ice to elementary school families on May 1st and on Earth Day and for their third event, the group worked in the school garden to divide and resell iris bulbs with the help of the Home & School Association.

We love seeing the giving spirit of this group of students and their commitment to connect with and serve other cultures.

Thank you WLHS Jenkintown teachers and students! You are changing the future of Haiti!

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
