Student Dental Care
LBS Dental Care
Every student at Les Bons Samaritains (LBS) receives routine dental check-ups.
Why does this matter? Dental care isn’t just about teeth — it’s key to preventing infections, heart disease, and other serious health issues. By starting early, we’re protecting their health today and building a healthier tomorrow.
In October 2024, the Mortel High Hopes for Haiti Foundation contracted with a local Haitian dental office in Saint Marc, Haiti, to provide dental care to our student population while trips from the U.S. for our volunteer dentists continue to be unsafe and imprudent.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the dentist provided:
- Dental consultations and oral exams
- Preventative care, plaque removal, and topical fluoride application
- Lessons on proper teeth-brushing techniques
After an initial investment of supplies from the generosity of the former Dental Volunteers from the U.S., the local Haitian dental team visited the LBS dental exam room monthly to treat students.
Thanks to these visits, some students were even able to address dental pains and issues with extractions, restoration and general treatments.
Your support makes preventative care possible — and these smiles are proof.
