The school year in Haiti closed and the Haitian Department of Education has yet to decide on an official plan for the next academic year. We thank you for your support over the past year and for your continued thoughts and prayers for Haiti throughout this pandemic.

The Haitian government has promised economic support for staff and teachers at all private schools in the country, but they have yet to deliver. In the meantime, we, as an organization, have paid all of our staff a half-salary for the month of April to help ease their burden during these challenging times.

Recently, international organizations have said that they fear Haiti may turn into a humanitarian crisis as the Covid-19 cases increase exponentially each day. The living conditions in Haiti do not lend themselves to social distancing and masks are not readily available to most of the population, so we hope and pray that Haiti be protected from the worst of this virus as the country also enters into Hurricane season.

Thank you again for your past support and we will do our best to keep you updated. We will still be sending our annual newsletter in the coming months and we appreciate your prayers to protect Haiti and all of the students and staff in our schools.
