Dr. Mortel’s Book Receives National Recognition
Published in 2018 by the Cathedral Foundation Press, Go, and Do the Same: Schooling a New Generation for Haiti, is receiving national recognition and acclaim by several prestigious organizations.
The book written by Rodrigue Mortel, M.D., a world-renowned gynecologic oncologist, author of three books and philanthropist, was recognized by the Jenkins Group of Traverse City, Michigan, a book packaging and marketing firm dedicated to promoting books, publishers and authors. The 2019 Living Now Awards were created to celebrate the innovation and creativity of newly published books that enhance the quality of lives.
Announced in September 2019, Go, and Do the Same received a Silver Medal under the category of social activism/charity. The winning books were chosen for their ability to enrich readers’ lives, provide spiritual inspiration and promote global sustainability. The awards are open to all books written in English and intended for the North American market.
Go, and Do the Same which falls in the non-fiction, educational and international genre categories, also received an Honorable Mention by the Associated Church Press (ACP) for its distinctive originality, creativity and impact. Judges from the ACP called Go, and Do the Same, “A good and informative book.” The ACP is an association of religious publishers, mostly Christian from a variety of denominations. It’s the second-oldest religious press association in the United States.
