Haiti Insecurity

Haiti has been in the news again recently with an increase in violence and looting across the country. People are struggling with increased gas prices and inflation which impacts every aspect of their lives- from transportation to the ability to find food, water, and other basic necessities.

There have been rumors that the looting and demonstrations will reach Saint Marc though our town is usually calmer than other hot-spots closer to the capital. We cannot predict what the coming days or weeks will bring, but we want to assure you that we are doing everything we can to keep our staff, buildings, and properties safe. Since the school opening was delayed until October, our students remain at home, but our teachers continue to come to work to prepare for the year.

We hope there is nothing more to report in the coming days, but wanted to keep you informed of the current situation. Please continue to pray for peace and for the people of Haiti.
