On July 2nd, parents, teachers, students and members of the community gathered for a “Moving Up” Ceremony to celebrate the 6th graders of Les Bons Samaritains (LBS) who recently finished their studies and will continue on to secondary school in the fall.

The stage backdrop highlighted the themes and focus for this year: Integrity, Faith, Knowledge, Charity, and Responsibility. These themes were central for this group of students throughout the year as an encouragement to excellence academically as well as spiritually.

To celebrate the accomplishments of these new graduates, especially during another trying year for the country, students sang, danced, recited poetry, performed skits, and honored those who have helped them reach this moment including their parents and teachers. Near the end of the ceremony, the 6th graders passed the torch to the 5th graders as they will rise to uphold the reputation for excellence in academics and in service to the community. Some students and teachers were also recognized with special awards and the ceremony concluded with the singing of the hymn of the school- Go and Do the Same.

Overall, the event brought joy to all those who participated and attended and will be a new tradition to carry on for years to come.

Congratulations to the new graduates and we can’t wait to see what they achieve in the years ahead!
